Ipad have became a phenomenon kan? even my 11 months old iffah is mesmerized by ipad..

punyalah suka, sampai makan ipad tu!. and she likes to listen to kids song app in the ipad. the tune of this song is stuck in my head for quite sometime now...

"We'll be singing round the worl, round the world"

yep, that is the only lyrics. it sang the same lyrics over and over again! haha..

haih...all the 3 siblings is growing up super fast! wish i can quit my job now and spend more time with them. but takpe, insyaAllah soon. ye la, still need to stabilized my income from biz first, insyaAllah :)

Spaghetti night

Assalamualaikum wbt,

I had a craving for spaghetti. I want generous bolognese servings with lovely chunky, juicy meatballs. But since it is a big challenge to dine outside with the kids (it is even a challenge dining in! :D) so i've settle for home cooked spaghetti bolognese, chunky juicy meatballs are replaced with chunky juicy sausages! haha..

Anyway, the kids love any kind of noodle. Nadrah paling suka. Iffah makan apa saja. Muaz, pasrah itu menyerah :)

When seeing the kids enjoying their home cooked meals, i would really love it if i'll be able to cook most of the meals. So far, only dinner is cooked by me during weekdays, itu pun kekadang tak sempat.

The advantages of home cooked meals is that we will confident that the food is bersih, from halal source and more importantly from healthier choice. And another important benefit is air tangan mak. I think it is true, mom's cooking is the best, be it a simple pasta with sausages or a grand masak lemak cili padi ikan salai (drooling!).

You know why? Because mom always cook from the heart. and I always add on lots of doa while cooking :)

InsyaAllah soon ye, daily air tgn mam's cooking! :)

and another thing, a biozone food purifier give that extra advantage to ensure your food is free from antibiotics or racun serangga. additional precautions for loved ones never hurts, kan? :)

My lil baby iffah demam. She's a bit moody, tido tak lena hence making Me a bit moody too. haha.. :)

but later on, after being entertained by her abg momad and kak nadrah.. she was up and running again.. opss, up and merangkak.. yup, she still can't walk properly, only 5-7 steps. It's ok Iffah, take ur time, no rush! :)

Nadrah and her Tadika Van..

Assalamualaikum wbt,

It took us about 25 mins to send Nadrah to Tadika in the morning. and we just don't have the time luxury... so we decided to opt for the Tadika van.

Her 1st day was a big air mata drama.. her, and her mummy. huhu.. there's no picture.. sibuk berairmata..

Alhamdulillah, the 2nd trip was much better. she had a bit teary eyes but it was overall ok.

And today, on her 5th day, she was smiling and waving to us. Alhamdulillah.

The new tadika suits her well. It only have 13 students ranging from 3 years to 5 years. and 3 teachers to look after them. I think Nadrah is the youngest.

I was so upset when Nadrah did not managed to get a place in Taska TM, but now, looking at how happy she is, i was relieved. Yes, Allah knows best. and confirmed, everything that happens, must have hikmah disebaliknya. :)

And selingan, the kids picture while waiting for Nadrah's van.

Muaz was jealous and keep on saying "Muaz pun dah lama tak naik Van pg school". Bila pulak la Muaz pernah naik van pegi school ni?? haha..

Last week Iffah had a series of diarhea for 5 days, she doesn't want to eat, but luckily she wants to drinks.. so the doctor said, no need to be alarmed.. Alhamdullah on day 6, she was back to her " saya nak makan apa saja" self again. We use to sing her lullaby "i can eat, i can eat, u know i really likes to eat!" songs from cartoon Chowder.. haha..

and Nadrah.. i've updated before about nadrah did not get a place in taska TM, so we registered her at Taska An Nur in BK6, she was sad yesterday.. this picture is the prove..

but she was much more happier today. alhamdulillah... :) but no picture to proof. haha..

and another one, my hero boy.. we were getting ready to go to my SIL house when we heard a loud bang

earlier we told him to wait until jarum jam at no 6, then he can play with ipad.. so, kamikah yang bersalah? hehe..

We bought the kids a kolam. just a small kolam, but really worth the money seeing them sooooo happy playing in there.

i guess the picture would pretty much explained what i meant by "soooooo happy".. for e.g look at Iffah in this picture

the pool was rm39.90 bought from Jusco... and don't worry, we recycle the water used by kids, buat siram pokok :)

oh, this is another picture that i would like to share, typical night activities during weekdays, after mandi & makan, Muaz would usually be glued to TV, Nadrah and her mumu, Iffah.. well Iffah is attracted to anything around her, in this case, tissue :)

P/s: i was supposed to be beside the bakul and lipat kain! :D

Suheimy would be on the couch reading paper or layan tv with the kids. :)

Anak dara saya, Nur Amni Nadrah is a manja doter. She's a bit reserve.We love her to bits. and i know she loves us to bitss too.

Got news from taska TM yesterday, she did not managed to get a place in Taska TM. for the time being i sent her to Taska atas tiket transit, alasan: cuti sekolah, budak kurang + bbsitter tak berapa sihat.

She's so happy in Taska. It would break her heart if we were to sent her back to rumah Mak as, no kawan sebaya. It would break my heart too... huhu..

Dadeng, perhaps you were meant to be in a better preschool kot. we'll find you a taska ye sayang...

But since my little hero requested for ultraman kek.. maka, at 3.45pm, the kek transformed into....

haha.. creative tak? :D anyway, the kids loved it! and most importantly my Muaz loved it. And to add to it, Nadrah and Iffah was at taska too that day.. :)

Muaz, Momad, Abg Muaz. He's 4 today. Alhamdulillah. He's a great child. Obedient, tend to share, loves his siblings, and brings great joy and ketenangan into our family. I pray that he'll grow up to be a great person, a great leader didunia and akhirat. Ameen.

and lastnite, at 10pm, the kids are charged up and played sakan at taman. We arrieved home quite late - at 8 pm, so i thought everyone was tired since everyone was moody in the car.. but later on seeing them so happy playing together did give relieve and ketenangan in my heart. Alhamdulillah. Content - yep, that's the right word to describe my feelings.

This is an overdue entry - sorry guys!

Well, we did a mengejut BBQ session at my house in honor of lina - yang tak pernah dtg to my house lagi.. :)

mengejut in a sense because the date was finalized a day before actual event ye.. but everybody managed to come with delicious menus.. biasala, since the event is held at no bibik venue, maka - wajib potluck! :)

dlm byk2 nie, nasik goreng tu je i prepare ye.. hehe..

The kids had a blast!! don't have to say much, the picture explains all...

Nope, i was not talking about business or life point of view. It is literally about a climbing adventure.

She had to get through a lot before she can start the adventure. There's k Nadrah who likes to follow her, there's a gate, which happens to be opened at that time, and there mama who wanted to take pictures.. haha..

and then there's bags and a bakul that seems nice to selongkar.. but she better moves on, for her aim is to the top! (bak kata Muaz: To the STARRR!!!)

but... what's this?

this she simply can't resist!

anyhow, moving on... she just give me a peek at the second "opening glass frame"..

and lastly... she finally arrived at the top! k nadrah already there, patiently waiting :)

and she's only 9.5 months old. yet to walk, but she already took her 1st step. :)

Usahalah Iffah! Eventhough sakit jantung mama & abah dibuatnya when you first climb the stair, but we are proud of you. :)

Iffah is 8 mths plus. but dia dah macam budak besar

1. suka duduk mcm antara 2 sujud

ni tgh makan, dia akan freeze in this pose until habis makanan kat tangan ye..

2. dah minum susu sendiri (still my EBM ye)

3. yang paling hebat, dia dah boleh berdiri sendiri lama + sambil bengkok2 lutut pun steady lagi. But still belum melangkah. it's ok iffah, you can take your time! :)

The Story of NENA (For entrepreneurs in distress)

Last night I read a posting on one of my participant's site; it shook me to the core. It was about how her daughter of 10 years old, sold her favorite Angry Bird toy and gave all the money to her mom to help make ends meet, accompanied by a piece of note.

I was so touched and inspired by the little child's act that I decided to do two things:

One - I am creating a program within ElixirEducate which I am naming NENA, after the blessed child (the mom is blessed to for having such child). NENA stands for (N)ew (E)ntrepreneurs (N)eeding (A)dvise. And this would apply to all those who were forced into entrepreneurship out of necessity or hardship; that would include single parents, laid-offs, homeless and the poor at home. And what it means that I will give coaching at heavily subsidised rates (I will not cheapen it by disclosing further) and you only pay when you have - later, when you make the money from your business. I do not want a single cent until you are successful. (But please bear in mind that I cannot help everyone until I get more volunteers).

Two - I am going to give this advise for those who are forced into entrepreneurship out of necessity rather than choice.

1.Don't tell yourself to be positive, instead KNOW that the Almighty has decided to give you the best gift in life, entrepreneurship. It is a field that even religion regard as the 9 out of 10 doors of fortune. There is no doubt about this.

2.Have faith that the Al-Mighty have the power to change your situation and make it better. For Muslims, pray and ask from Allah and don't be vague - be specific. Remember and know that mightiness of the AL-Mighty is beyond your comprehension and his knowledge and generosity is beyond what your human mind can conceive. Rezeki is not determined by your boss, your company or your project - Even their 'rezeki' is determined by Allah; so ask yourself who have been you REALLY been asking rezeki from all this while?

3.Read and find the book, La Tahzan (Don't be Sad, Jangan Bersedih). It has helped me and millions other really pick ourselves up. Ask any bookstore or go to the library. Find it now.

4.Know that your universe is about to change and be proud with yourself (proud, not arrogant). Prepare yourself for the change and open your eyes wide of the possibilities. Walk tall; for the final determinant is the Al-Mighty Allah. LITERALLY walk tall, as you are reading this, sit straighter! Get up and stand taller, lift your shoulder and open up your chest. Try it now. You will feel stronger. Now DON'T change that posture.

5.Have a dialog with yourself. Go to a mirror or even a puddle of water and see your reflection. Tell that person, "form now on, you and me, together we will change our fate, our destiny. Together we are going to make a fortune and help others who are like us. Let's DO THIS".

6.In business, mental toughness is a MUST and the real KEY to success. Enlist all help to do this but the first help must be from the Al-Mighty, from God. How? Pray, even if you have not prayed for the last 30 year, pick up a clean towel, lay it down, find a general direction of the Kaabah and pray. Allah is the best of judge and the most knowledgeable and he KNOWS your imperfections. I strongly suggest that you pray NOW. Break from reading this and go pray, two rakaah will do. I am going to do my Solah Dhuna now.

7.See, less than 10 minutes. Next is to take action. Prayers is not likely will land gold at your feet (anything possible with Allah though), mostly it will be answered through your actions. You are not dead yet. So let's get cracking.

8.Before starting anything, improve yourself first. Make yourself more productive. Sleep half and hour earlier than usual but wake up an hour earlier. After Prayer and reciting surah Waqiah, READ. READ about your trade, your product and your business. If you have the internet that is great, rather than spending that time lamenting your state in a chatroom, browse and search for information. Spend at least forty five minutes READING and listening to instructional videos on Youtube. I do that everyday. Do it before the kids wake up.

9.Then list the things you need to do that day. When you do not have money, time is your most important resource. Plan it properly and get more things done within that day. Any free time? READ!

10.Get help. Find a business coach or a friend who has been in business and ask for advise. Don't be afraid that a business coach might be expensive, just go to them and tell them your situation and I GUARANTEE that any GOOD BUSINESS COACH will be more interested to help you rather than the money. A good business coach also believes that Allah decides his rezeki, not from you and your fees.

11.Find out your strengths and weaknesses (a friend or coach can help) and what is your product and value proposition that you can offer? It could be anything, Serunding Sambal to your mom's favorite recipe. Find someone who can give you a good picture and plan on how to make money.

12.DO NOT INVEST in anything that guarantees return and ask you to do nothing (except maybe get more investors). YOU WILL LOSE MONEY. Money never makes money, only you do. Spend wisely. Spend to be actionable.

13.Genuine Multi-Level-Marketing is a good business to go into for a start. You can gather income steadily by using genuine and honest tactics. Do not manipulate and lie to get customers as words will get around and soon no one will want to see or buy anything from you.

14.If you have a product of your own - go out and sell it. Products are never perfect first round so don't wait for it to be perfect but make sure you continuously improve them. Be honest with your customers; they will buy something with 60% perfection level.

15.Be humble and smile always. Life has thrown a spanner so being humble should be easy for you. Be humble and smile - that always got me jobs. Humble, NOT PITIFUL. Do not slouch or look sad, humble is being proud at what you are doing but nor arrogant.

16.Focus, Focus, Focus...

17.If you have a family - they are your sources of strength. Do not worry for their rezeki is in the hands of Allah too. Not all is on your shoulder. Allah will take care of them too. Hug your child/spouse with smile and vigour. Tears are okay once in a while, but most effective when in prayers (that means you too, menfolks).

18.Help others whenever you can in whatever way you can.

Ini Izam. Sebabnya saya tak letak nama penuh dan terpaksa memozekkan wajahnya adalah kerana janji saya pada bapanya (kejap lagi saya terangkan).

Umurnya 10 tahun. Beberapa bulan lalu, dia ditangkap bersama-sama abangnya yg berumur 12 tahun dan sEorang lagi kawan -mencuri meja sekolah. Meja tu bahagian tepinya diperkukuhkan dgn besi. Bahagian besi tulah yg dijual kepada pembeli besi buruk utk RM3.

Kenapa? Sebab nak beli beras.

“Kami lapar sgt,” kata mereka.

“Saya tak sampai hati nak hukum diorang bila dpt tangkap,” kata Ustazah Norazainah. Beliau telah mengajar di KAFA Integrasi Al-Insaniah sejak 2004. Malahan dia dan seorang guru lain yang bertanggungjawab menubuhkan sekolah itu di tgh2 kawasan PPRT (Projek Perumahan Rakyat Termiskin) Lembah Subang.

“Sekolah kami ni mmg selalu kena pecah masuk, barang2 dirosakkan dan dicuri. Mmg frust betul sbb kami kumpul duit utk kemudahan sekolah ni dgn titik peluh sendiri. Bila dpt tahu yg pelajar kami sendiri yg mencuri, mmg sedih. Bila tahu kenapa, Tuhan sajalah yg tahu perasaan ni.”

Dari nak dihukum akhirnya ditolong. Ustazah Zainah meminta Izam dan abangnya membawa beliau ke rumah mereka.

Runtun hatinya melihat keadaan tempat tinggal mereka. Izam punyai lima adik beradik. Mereka tinggal di sebuah unit flat yg keadaannya amat daif bersama2 bapa mereka, yg tiada di rumah ketika lawatan itu. Si bapa sibuk mencari rezeki di tepian Jalan Masjid India, menjual alat permainan.

Ibu mereka masih hidup, namun telah lama meninggalkan mereka. Tak sanggup menanggung keadaan hidup sedemikian, begitulah yg diceritakan kepada Ustazah Zainah.

Ketika beliau masuk, ternampak adik-beradik yg lain sedang duduk di atas lantai, sambil menjamah nasi kosong di dalam talam. Yg bongsu umurnya empat tahun. Badannya kelihatan lesu, lagaknya pasif, menurut Ustazah Zainah. Mungkin kerana terlalu lapar, mungkin kerana kurang nutrisi, mungkin kerana penyakit yg tidak kita ketahui.

Guru Besar sekolah, Ustazah Hawa, menceritakan pada saya tentang usaha mereka meminta kebenaran si bapa untuk menjaga dan membela nasib yg bongsu dan si kakak yang umurnya belasan tahun, namun tidak diizinkan. Mereka mati akal, tak tau mcm mana nak sampaikan pertolongan.

Izam dan abangnya tiada surat beranak. Jadi, tak dapat pergi sekolah kebangsaan. Kakaknya yang berusia 13 tahun dpt ke sekolah menengah, namun terpaksa juga menjaga yg bongsu ketika bapanya tiada di rumah. Tapi selalunya, Izam yg menjaga adik-adiknya ketika yang lain ke sekolah dan bapanya bekerja.

Pertama kali kami bertemu, Izam senyap dan sugul. Baju sekolahnya comot dan berdaki. Katanya dia memakai baju yg sama setiap hari. Baju itu dibasuh di hujung minggu.

Kami bersembang. Katanya, matapelajaran kegemarannya Jawi. Saya minta dia tuliskan namanya di atas sekeping kertas. Dia dapat menulis (dalam tulisan Rumi). Ini sebenarnya mengkagumkan kerana dia tak pernah ke sekolah.

Saya tanya apa yang dimakannya ketika sarapan pagi tadi.

Tak makan, jawabnya.

Sebelum ke KAFA?

Tak makan.

Saya terdiam, sambil memandang pinggan berisi goreng pisang di hadapan kami.

“Jadi.. ni baru Izam nak makan?”

Dia mengangguk.

Kata Izam, kadang-kadang dia tak lapar, sbb dah biasa.

Ya Allah. Saya tak dpt bayangkan apa yg dilalui anak ini setiap hari.

Saya tanya, Izam nak ke sekolah? Sekolah yg saya maksudkan ialah sekolah kebangsaan.

Wajah Izam serta-merta berubah. Ceria. Tersenyum. Senyuman yg penuh harapan.

Ustazah Zainah bertanyakan saya sama ada nak melawat rumah Izam. Saya setuju.

Sesampainya di sana, kami dapati bapanya tiada di rumah. Beliau di surau, menunaikan solat Asar berjemaah. Namun anak perempuannya telah diarah agar tidak membenarkan sesiapa masuk ke rumah, melainkan keluarga. Tapi, kalau saya nak masuk pun, mmg takda masalah. Tombol pintunya hilang. Yang ada hanyalah sehelai kain buruk yg digunakan utk menutup lubang tombol dan menyelak pintu.

Kami menghormati permintaan si bapa dan menunggu di luar. Bila beliau tiba, dia meminta maaf kerana tidak dpt membenarkan kami masuk.

“Saya buat begini bukanlah sebab saya sombong, tapi Cik kan dah tahu keadaan rumah saya, sgt daif. Saya malu nak bagi masuk. Bimbang boleh dijadikan fitnah,” katanya.

Beliau kurang selesa dgn kehadiran saya. Katanya sungguh pun mereka hidup dalam kemiskinan tegar, mereka bukannya pengemis. Beliau tak mahu media dtg ke rumah, merakamkan kedaifan hidup mereka dengan kamera video, menceritakan pada org ramai tentang kesedihan mereka. Beliau jengkel dengan mereka yang meratapi nasib di dalam TV, dengan air mata bercucuran, ditatap umum.

Saya berjanji tidak akan mengambil gambarnya dan tempat tinggalnya, atau mendedahkan identitinya di media. Namun saya tetap akan menceritakan kisah mereka, cuma bukan dgn cara yg tidak dikehendakinya. Saya di situ bukannya atas dasar mencari berita, tapi atas dasar kemanusiaan, kerana saya juga seorang ibu, punyai naluri kasih sayang pada anak2.

Saya dan Ustazah Zainah berusaha memujuknya membenarkan sekolah itu menjaga si bongsu dan anak perempuannya di siang hari, agar beliau mudah mencari rezeki atau mencari punca pendapatan yg lebih baik. Namun beliau kurang yakin dgn cadangan kami. Katanya, kalau dia ke kerja awal pagi, siapa yg akan menyiapkan anak2? Memasak utk mereka?

Cadangan Ustazah Zainah itu sebenarnya amatlah praktikal. Si bongsu akan dimasukkan ke program taska mereka pada waktu pagi, dan Ustazah sendiri akan menjaganya di sekolah selepas habis taska, sehinggalah si kakak atau bapa balik. Namun cadangan itu tetap ditolak.

Si bapa seolah2 gembira menerima kemiskinan ini sebagai taqdir yg akan merapatkan lagi hubungannya dengan Rasulullah s.a.w. Saya berkata kepadanya bahawa ramai para Sahabat alaihissalam yang juga kaya, dan mereka juga amat rapat dan dicintai Rasulullah s.a.w.

Sebelum kita menuduh beliau menggunakan agama sebagai alasan kemiskinannya, harus juga kita ingat yg beliau seorang lelaki. Ego lelaki itu cukup kuat utk membuatkan beliau menafikan kesempitan hidupnya.

Saya mmg kagum dgn dedikasinya menjaga anak2 setelah ditinggalkan isteri. Tidak mudah dilakukan, tidak ramai sanggup melakukan. Namun realitinya adalah budak2 itu tetap lapar, dan telah pun mencuri akibat kelaparan. Mereka perlukan pendidikan utk membebaskan diri dari cengkaman kemiskinan. Si bapa itu sendiri mengaku, Izam sering menyuarakan keinginannya utk ke sekolah, dan mengadu dirinya seperti diperlekehkan rakan2nya yg seronok ke sekolah ketika dia terperuk di rumah.

Kami menawarkan pertolongan mendapatkan surat beranak utk anak2 itu, tapi balasnya “Buat apa? Dia sudah darjah 3..tidak ketinggalankah dia?”

Tidak, kata kami. Kami terus memujuk. Saya kata anaknya bijak, sgt berminat belajar. Sebenarnya, ramai pelajar sekolah itu yg sememangnya bijak walaupun dikongkong kemiskinan dan kelaparan. Cuma, mereka tak berpeluang mendapat kehidupan lebih baik.

Bapa Izam berkata beliau malu anak2 nya ke sekolah KAFA itu tanpa membayar yuran, kerana beliau tak mampu. Ustazah Zainah kata takpa, asalkan mereka dtg.

“Takkanlah saya tak bagi budak2 ni dtg..ini ilmu akhirat. Tanggungjawab saya nak mendidik mereka, dtg sajalah, takpe,” rayunya.

Di sini saya nak terus terang mengatakan bahawa walaupun ibu kepada budak2 ni org Malaysia, bapanya ini kemungkinan warga Indonesia. Pelatnya sukar dilindung. Terdahulu, saya pernah ditegur seseorang yg tak puas hati saya menolong pelajar miskin, yg bukan semuanya dari org Malaysia. Saya rasa komen mcm ni tak perlu. Bukankah dia tetap manusia? Bukankah budak2 ni, tetap budak2? Mereka berhak mendapatkan hak asasi seperti makanan, tempat tinggal dan pendidikan. Dan kita semua sesama Islam. Yg membezakan antara kita, taqwa. Itu saja yg perlu kita ingat.

Guru2 di KAFA Al-Insaniah ni bukan saja telah melaksanakan tanggungjawab mereka malah lebih dari itu. JAIS hanya mampu membayar guru2 ini bagi satu sesi pengajaran, sedangkan ada guru, spt Ustazah Zainah, yg mengajar dua sesi. Ada guru yg langsung tak dpt dibayar.

JAIS mengharapkan perbelanjaan sekolah dpt ditampung oleh yuran sekolah. Ya, secara teorinya takda masalah, kerana kebanyakan sekolah KAFA di Lembang Klang ni lokasinya di kawasan perumahan mereka yg berpendapatan sederhana atau agak berada. Jadi ramai yg mampu yuran RM20 sebulan.

Namun KAFA Al-Insaniah dibina di tgh2 kawasan PPRT. Kebanyakan keluarga yg tinggal di sini masing2 penerima zakat. Hampir separuh kanak2 yg ke sekolah itu juga dari keluarga penerima zakat, jadi tau2 sajalah tahap keperitan hidup mereka.

“Bagaimanalah kami sampai hati nak mintak budak2 ni yuran sekolah?” kata Ustazah Hawa. “Masa mula2 tu, kerana ramai yg tak bayar, kami mintak, tulis surat kat ibubapa. Lepastu, ramai yg tak dtg sekolah. Kami ingat takpalah, mari balik, tak payah bayar, asalkan dpt teruskan belajar.”

Guru2 ini sanggup menerima potongan gaji semata2 agar sekolah ini terus beroperasi. Gaji mereka kira2 RM1,200. Itu pun baru2 ini dinaikkan kerajaan. Sebelum ini, RM1,000 ke bawah. Lagi menambahkan asam ke luka, baru2 ini sekolah itu dipecah masuk. Habis yuran, komputer dgn data pelajar dan wang sumbangan dari jualan amal disapu. Dapur kantin juga dipecah masuk dan makanan dicuri. Penutup longkang dan pelbagai lagi barangan besi dan logam dicuri, membahayakan anak2 yg bermain di waktu rehat. Pagar dipotong, siling dipecahkan, memudahkan lagi pencuri keluar masuk. Guru2 ini mati kutu bagaimana nak terus beroperasi bila berhadapan dgn cabaran sebegini besar.

Setiap ringgit yg disumbang ke KAFA Integrasi Al-Insaniah dapat megenyangkan seorang pelajar, menggalakkan mereka ke sekolah, membantu mereka merubah kehidupan. Setiap ringgit membawa bersamanya harapan, membasmi kemiskinan, menggalakkan org lain beramal.

Tiada sumbangan yg terlalu kecil. Setiap sumbangan adalah amal baik yg berterusan faedah dan pahalanya.

Aishah r.a. berkata Rasulullah s.a.w bersabda: “Amalan yang paling disukai Rasulullah SAW ialah yang kekal (istiqamah) sekalipun sedikit.” (Bukhari, Muslim)

We went back to Kuantan last weekend. Very-very tiring but we did have a great time.

For the first time, i was able to ikat Nadrah's hair. :)

And then we went to the beach to play with kites.

But there's not much wind so the kids end up running around and playing with the water.

Iffah have a karipap so she doesn't care.

She only moves when i took the karipap. haha..

Well, i did not managed to snap the kids pictures because they were running around and nobody wants to stop and pose for me. Only get to shoot Iffah. :)

Well, i guess this is true - at least the bottom half. I always got angry at Suheimy for whatever reasons, usually lame reasons. But the feeling usually hilang - and i literally means hilang terus whenever he smiles at me or kadang just by seeing him reading the paper with kids around.

I think about 75% of the time Suheimy did not even know that i was mad at him. huhu..

Yang, sian ija, penat tau marah sorang2.

To change or not to change?

Change is hard.

I want to be able to send my kids to school myself.
I want to be home when they come back from school
I want to cook lunch and dinner for them (brekpes? ala, tak sempat laa..)
I want spend more time with the kids
I want the flexibility of catering to the kids needs - tgk homework dia, watch them grow, tend to their needs
I want to greet Suheimy when he got back from the office - already bathed and wangi, dinner cooked, house settle.

But at the same time..

I like my job now (errr...)
I like being in the same building / same company with Suheimy
I like having time to myself
I like having tablemates and officemates for gossipping, shopping, spaing (err..liza, betoi ke perkataan aku ni?)
I like my achievement and being recognized at work
~~I like my own gaji~~ this maybe i can still get since i'll be work from home mother :)

Muaz will be standard 1in 2 years time. I am still in dilemma.

2nd day of raya

Well, we spent mlm raya and 1st half of raya pertama @ ampang puteri because Muaz was warded - his 2nd Bronchitis attack.

So technically, 2nd Syawal is our 1st day raya. The kids and me wore baju kurung/ baju melayu on the 2nd day and Suheimy is willing to wear the same baju melayu again on 2nd Syawal (i dah basuh and gosok again ye) :)

Anyway, on the 2nd Syawal, it was just our family and my MIL and Wan. oh, there's Paksu (adik Bongsu Suheimy) but he's still in bed... hehe..

Did you notice Nadrah's eye? kena gigit semut la plak mlm raya tu... bengkak mata dia... still comel though! hehe

the other day Pak Uda (adik suheimy) came to our house for break fast and his 1.5 years old son was playing with ipad. Muaz who really loves playing games be it "game tv" or "game hanpon" mmg jakun habis tgk ipad tu.

Maka... should we get an ipad too? or the alternatives such as samsung tablet, or viewsonic tablet...

err.. what's the difference actually???

Dear Mama, Ummi, Mum, Ibu, Bonda…

I have to share this with you… because i feel so happy and i feel that all my penat lelah paid off…I started to make my Amna to solat 5 times a day when she was 7, on her 7th birthday…we had a talk…(check note lama) tapi preparation since 6 la…

tapi dari kecik memang selalu ikut2 la kami solat….she hasnt missed her solat since. Walaupun lambat, tetap solat. I made sure of that – because the key is SOLAT ni kalau tak tanam dari kecik memang LIAT nanti….But it is very important to keep this in mind:-

1) kalau kita bagi dia tinggal WALAUPUN sekali nanti we are sending the wrong signal – kena make sure – every waktu without fail, walaupun penat, ataupun lambat

2) l Selalu kalau boleh solat together..mula2 memang kena solat together….kalau tak ada rumah make sure an adult in the house pastikan anak kita solat. (hari tu Amna pergi her reading class, i asked her teacher to take her to the surau) -lepas solat time tu lah peluk cium, senyum – i always kiss her at the head and say “Barakallahufiha” Ya Allah make my Amna a good Muslim Ya Allah….make her never miss her solat Ya Allah…..kuat2 bagi dia dengar….

ps:- kalau kena amik cuti ambillah – bukan waktu exam je amik cuti – buatlah STEP ini, yakni melangkah ke alam 7 thaun dan tidak meninggalkan solat A BIG Thing! “mama amik cuti hari ni sebab nak pastikan yang adik solat 5 waktu sehari!”

3) Selalu cerita how IMPORATANT it is to solat..how Allah is watching us… how we are good Muslims when we solat, how Allah loves us, Solat tu, untuk kita, bukan untuk Allah…..TAPI selalu jugak cerita yang akan ada orang TAK solat…acknowledge the fact that sometimes we feel lazy to solat….itu semua kerja SETAN! Fight them off….! I tell Amna that even some grown ups tak solat! I tell Amna that….we have to be strong.. we have to tell ourselves we will NEVER miss our solat…..

4) Awal2 subuh ni memang tak bangunkan, tapi as soon as dia bangun pagi, ill ask her to solat straight away.(yes memang leceh..but we have to, and we have to do it with LOVE diselang seli dgn strictness)

5) kalau dia tinggal – DENGAN sengaja, i take the rotan and hit her on her tapak tangan slowly, just as a reminder. After that i hug her and tell her i love her, and i just want her to remember – and guess what?? memang dia ingat!!! (3 kali baru, i think not bad, sampai satu hari dia terlambat solat, sebab keluar dan memang tak ingat, dia yang suruh rotan) But i tell her kalau TERLUPA atau TERTIDUR its ok…but kena solat terus bila bangun.

Macam ni ceritanya, i told Amna, kalau Ummi ambik Amna dari sekolah lambat, Amna solat dulu Asar kat sekolah….tadi memang datang lambat…i was loking for her..and guess what????

She was actually praying her Asar prayers…sorang je kat dalam surau tu….i wanted to pengsan and cry…she did all by herself…. i pun told her how happy and how proud i was of her…i tanya dia kenapa? dia kata “Amna ingat apa Ummi cakap”…..cair nya hatiku ini.

Apa lagi, Ummi ni peluk cium dia….and called nenek at Australia…now im sharing with all of you!!! Because i want us to raise generation of good Muslims that are disciplined, smart, intelligent -that remembers Allah because the world so BADLY needs good QUALITY Muslims like this!!!

And the foundation is – to start them off right – solat at SEVEN! Yes just as how Rasulullah asked us!I love you all!!! Good night….. But the key to all this IS Mak Ayah KENA dan WAJIB solat dulu…anak ketam tak boleh diajar berjalan terus…fahamkan?

Night activities

Assalamualaikum wbt,

We are one of those families who spent their nights watching TV after a hard day's work. Semalam alhamdulillah got home @ 6pm (kira awal la ni) thus managed to settle most of the chores before berbuka.

So I was a bit free later that nite and managed to grab my camera to snap pictures of the kids - i just want to capture our regular nite activities when the kids is growing up. Just to remember back this good days when i'm older and the kids are bigger later - for sure when they are older, at nite time will be different activities (kena buat homework/ study / spending time alone in their room - teenagers mesti la diff behavior).

So for now, our nites are filled with main lari2, main masak, panjat2 baby cot, main lompat2 atas couch (they never get tired of this activity), main pakai pampers kat mumu and gigi, etc, etc, i'll update the entry once i got pictures of these activities later.

For now, just the picture of kids loitering at our hall. Maybe not loitering la kot since they always have hidden agendas in their activities :)

Muka semua dah mengantuk, except for Iffah who just woke up.. huhu..

Our Nadrah is a bit pelat. We still understand her though... err... most of the time la.

Conversation 1:

Mama: Sapa nak makan Ayam?

Muaz: SAYAA!!

Nadrah: AWAKK!!

* awak means saya. (I think because when i speaks to the kids, sometimes i called them "awak")

Conversation 2:

Nadrah usually pegang first foods that she wants, bukan nak makan terus

Nadrah: Nak air Milo (Milo kotak)

Mama: Nah, mama tolong bukak ye?

Nadrah: Tak nak bukak, nak pegang je

And she will pegang the milo sambil main. Caution: pls make sure straw yang melekat kat kotal Milo tu intact, kalau tak she will cry and demand us to glue back the straw. huhu..

More fun facts about Nadrah:

1. She thinks the word "nene'" is funny.
2. She loooveess Mumu. (her soft toy)
3. She's a bit pemendam.
4. She's very manja and sesitive, but she rarely shows it.
5. She has a set or very big and cute eyes.
6. She often follows Muaz around and imitate him
7. well, the list will go on and on since i'm her mother and i'm biase :D

My ultraman was hospitalized

Assalamualaikum wbt,

Muaz was hospitalized last week. It was an asthma attack. Huhu..

When i recalled what happenned that day, i do feel sad, he was brething so hard and the wheezing sound coming from his chest was quite loud. It pains me to see my normally very2 active boy, just sit down, trying his best to breath.

I went to emergency room @ Sunway medical center around 4.15 pm, after sending my mother to the airport (mama n adik baru balik umrah, they are catching flight bound for Kota bharu).

Doctor immediately gave him 2 diff kind of Neb (he already took 1 neb in the morning at the clinic, but the effect lasted only a while)

He was fine soon after and become my active, crime fighting ultraman back soon after the medication. Alhamdulillah.

Muaz baru lepas dpt neb. Dia tak nangis pun when Doctor set up the line at his hand. Macho!
(I did warned the doctor, before he starts "Doctor, sekali je ye!" kalau tak jumpa the right vein, siappp..(dlm hati))

"Muaz ultraman Mabius, ada pedang kat tangan!"

Tak macam kat Emergency room pun kan! :)

and this is suheimy whom had to come to the hospital too coz i was a panicking masa Muaz tgh susah bernafas tu. huhu..

Last weekend my parents and sisters came to my house. Mama and adik is going for Umrah, so we gather at my house before sending them to airport.

Since i am maidless, nearly sawan jugak la melayan sedara mara :)

anyway, I am really happy when we have family gatherings... but i am pretty sure Muaz and Nadrah is much much more excited when their cousins came. They were playing non stop!

I was looking at Iffah last night, sleeping soundly in her baby cot. I thought, " when did she grow so big?". I can still remember the labor pains, the small baby yang selalu muntah susu, the small baby who does not want to genggam my hands (making me very worried)...

My Amni Iffah is now 4 months and she can now golek aka meniarap. One way sahaja ye, dah boring meniarap she will call (scream) for our assistance to untiarap her :)

Kolam Ikan

We were worried about the kids falling into our kolam ikan. When i said we, i meant us mmg la, tp the grandparents are more vocal about it.. :D

So my father give us an advance to immediately do something about the kolam so that hati dia tenang. Below is the outcome.

Budak2 tu siap berdiri lagi atas kolam and Muaz siap nak bawak kete dia atas kolam ikan tu.. sib baik i manage to stop him. And insyaAllah the steel is strong as Suheimy also can stand on it :D It cost us around RM1200.

Yesterday, we sent back Asti due to her Fomema test failed. Sayang betul nak hantar, she was a very good maid.

Now we are maidless. sob sob. And to add to that, i am currently having flu + sinusitis... huhu...

We are waiting for a new maid now, already called up an agent. Hopefully we would be able to get a good maid soon. Hopefully our new maid will be better and the best for us, everything that happens mesti ada hikmahnya kan, insyaAllah. :)

I've been eyeing to go for a vacation at The Legend International Water Homes. Actually have been dreaming to go there for my pre beranak bercuti session, masa tgh pregnantkan Iffah, but the room rates is quite expensive - RM475 per nite (itupun if book via cuti.com.my), so we end up going to Equtorial bangi instead.

Today, i was thinking about saving up money for a project... we (me & my table mate, Aliza) called it duit buku, since i sorok the money for future projects in a secret book at a secret location ;)

So, I think i will start up project LIWH... with initial save of RM50. :D

Few months after giving birth, i always encounter hair loss problem... significant hair loss problem.

Eventhough i have cut my hair short, the volume of hair fall, especially after shower is still massive!

huhu... org tua2 kata, sbb baby main air liur, makin kuat baby main air liur, makin byk gugur.

and kebetulan plak semua anak2 saya ssuuuukkaaa main air liur!

Sometimes i call Iffah.. PIPPA :) I tak tiru kate middleton's sister ye, dia yang tiru I.

Alhamdulillah, murah betul rezeki Iffah, my EBM stock is piling up. Hoepfully i can BF iffah until she's 2 years old, insyaAllah.

We purposely bought a new fridge right before i deliver IFfah since our old fridge is small.

but..

our new freezer pun penuh, maka last weekend we bought a new deep freezer. I wanted to buy the Faber freezer, front door with racks, but capasity for that is much smaller then chest freezer like this one.

mudahan2 Iffah murah rezeki selalu ye.

At 2 months, 3 weeks old, my Iffah is now 5.2kg, nearly double her birth weight (dia lahir 2.8kg)

Assalamualaikum wbt,

Just watched cctv, kesian tgk Nadrah. I think she is bored. She followed Asti (my bibik) everywhere Asti goes. Asti basuh pinggan, Nadrah would stand behind her and played with the apron. Asti naik atas for solat, Nadrah naik atas and main baju. Asti pegang and pujuk baby smbil jalan2 keliling hall rumah, Nadrah would follow her around too.

When we arrived home from work. Nadrah would always run outside to the porch to greet us. Then she would ask muaz "Abang Momad, jom main lari2" or "Abang Momad, jom main lompat2" or "Abang Momad jom main solat2" etc etc.

But Muaz is tired since he played with friends at school the whole day and he just wanted to watch cartoon. They would end up bergaduh sbb Nadrah kind of 'annoys' Muaz with the constant and persistent request.

Nadrah2... sian anak mama nie. Boring takde geng nak main ek. Tunggu Iffah besar sikit ye. Nanti Nadrah geng dgn Iffah ye. Hopefully Nadrah can get a place at TM's taska soon. Kesian Nadrah.

It started with just the 2 of us....

then, we were blessed with a twin... even for only for 3 days, we loves them so much..

and after the lost of Amni Izzah and Amni Izzati, how we longed for another baby..

ahlamdulillah, we got Muaz 2 1/2 years later..

Later on, Nadrah joined the family..

and now, Iffah came along..

alhamdulillah, ramai sgt dah anak kami sebenarnya... dah 5 org! 7 years of marriage and our family members is now 7. :)

first of all, sorry Nadrah on this very late entry. Nadrah birthday falls on 2nd Apr, but mama is sooo busy doing nothing and everything. huhu..

well, we arrived at kl on 2nd april, 00:01 morning. and then we did went out on the 2nd afternoon, but did not managed to find anything for nadrah. we end up buying a bicycle for Muaz instead.. hmm..

So, i've decided to google Nadrah's present. Senang, jimat masa and no need to travel.. (leceh skarang nak travel, with the baby and all). We decided to buy her a large kitchen. and alhamdulillah, she really likes it...

Suheimy has gone back to KL late last nite. Now it's just me and the 3 kids at KB with my parents. Huhu...

We are going to stay here until 1st April 2011.. until I finish my 44 days confinement period. All the 3 kids woke up at the same time last nite.. at 2 am. Even muaz yang rarely nangis malam pun menangis semlm.. perhaps they miss their Abah kot...

We will be apart for 32 days.... we miss you soooo much already sayang.

Alhamdulillah, i have safely delivered Nur Amni Iffah bt Suheimy on 16th Feb 2011.

Sorry for the late update sayang..

Details:

10th Feb (Thursday)

I got contraction every 10 mins from 2 am. Called my MIL at 3.30 am and then we went to PMC Bangsar. But the contraction stop as soon as we reached labor ward. False alarm! sabo je la.

Anyway, my mother got worried so she flew to KL immediately in the morning.

......

nothing happens until 14th Feb (Monday) which was my 39 weeks check up.

saw my gyne and she said the baby is fully engaged but my cervix is not yet dilated. My mom termenung mengenangkan how long she needs to be in KL since abah is left alone at KB.

So the good doctor gave us 2 option : 1. to induce on tomorrow nite or 2. wait for 40 weeks and if no contraction, induce then.

So we picked option 1 obviously.

16th Feb (Wednesday):

12:01 am : Dispite the doctor told us to be at the hosp on 10pm, we arrived at 12 midnite due to the two kids does not want to sleep, kesian plak my mother handle depa sorang2.

01:00 am: Midwife insert the induce tablet into my VJJ.

04:00 am: Start mild contraction

04:30 am: The contraction getting a bit stronger so i asked for injection

05:00 am: I feel like pushing so called for the nurse, she checked and i was at 4cm. She asked me to lay on my side and do not push!

05:30 am: Still at 4 cm

06:00 am: already 6 cm. I heard a baby cried so i know that Dr Idora is already at the hosp since she got 3 patients induce on the same day today. So i told suheimy, i'll give the doctor about 30 mins to finish sewing up that patient and hopefully then she can come to my aid.

06:40 am: Dr Idora came in and i told her i felt like pushing. She checked and i was at 9 cm. So she calmly smile and said : Fariza, you can start pushing now if you want.

so i push
...

..

...

and believe me, i push very2 hard. but Iffah just wont come out.

until...

07:05 am: She has arrived and immediately make a statement by crying her lung out! Alhamdulillah.

~~I've got the picture in my camera but can't transfer it to laptop now. sabo je la~~. Managed to get and edit the picture. so this is literally fresh from the oven picture of Iffah, baru je lepas potong tali pusat dia:

Suheimy cut the umbilical cord and followed Iffah outside to make sure they got the tag on the right baby (he does this with each of our kids).

Newly discovered skill

I have just discovered that Muaz has a new skill- a subtle way of agreeing with what i am saying, without making me emotional.

Example 1:

Mama: Muaz, perut mama besar sgt kan? (me with sad face)

Muaz: Nanti perut mama kecik balik ye! :)

*can't remember other example at the moment, but will update if i have anymore.

It took suheimy years to master this skill. In early years of our courtship, I usually asked him tricky questions, and he would always answer wrongly. But he sure have improved a lot now.

Example 2:

Me: Yang, napa perut ija boncit sgt nie.. huhu

Hubby: Mana ada, baby dlm perut tu yang buncit.

Hehe...usually this will be my regular questions during my maternity period. Seriously, my belly is sooo huge when i am pregnant. *Saiko*

Anak dara saya bgn pagi2 to babai mama and abah to the office. She's now stays with bibik at home. Alhamdulilah she doesn't cry now, she just cried for the first 2 days. Now she happily wave goodbye to us and then continue playing with Lia (my maid) at the pangkin or watch Dibo at tv.

Tidur sendiri

Assalamualaikum wbt,

Yesterday, my anak dara slept early (since she woke up @ 1pm then did not have any afternoon nap). So @ 9.30pm she was already asleep in front of the TV. We then put her in the bedroom.

Suddenly Muaz said: Mama, nak susu, nak tido dgn adik dlm bilik.

We had him go to the toilet first, put on his night pampers, make the milk and off he go into the bedroom by himself!. Suheimy tucks him in, gave him a good nite kiss and left him with Nadrah in the room. 15 mins later, he was already asleep.

Wallah, as easy as that. This is the first time Muaz went to bed alone. Usually we need to 'paksa' him to sleep and i need to lay beside him (to ensure he stays on the bed, otherwise he'll be playing around the room) until he falls asleep. Alhamdulillah, hopefully this new routine sticks! :)

Like every one of my pregnancy, except for the twins la (tak sempat nak suspen labour); I am in suspense mode + cuak.

Sakitnya beranak. huhu. Hopefully this time it will be easier and smoother and just like i imagine it would be. i.e, turun bloody show, take hot water bath at home, then no jam all the way hospital, then sampai2 je, Dr Idora mmg dah ada kat hospital, dah already 8 cm, nurse prep sikit2, then dah bersalin. Baby pun just nice je berat dia 2.8/2.9 kg. all in all - settled in 1 hour.

bleh tak? plsss... huhu..

This was his speech to the graduating class of 2008.

I must say thank you to the faculty and staff of the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information for inviting me to give your convocation address. It’s a wonderful honour and a privilege for me to speak here for ten minutes without fear of contradiction, defamation or retaliation. I say this as a Singaporean and more so as a husband.

My wife is a wonderful person and perfect in every way except one. She is the editor of a magazine. She corrects people for a living. She has honed her expert skills over a quarter of a century, mostly by practising at home during conversations between her and me.

On the other hand, I am a litigator. Essentially, I spend my day telling people how wrong they are. I make my living being disagreeable.

Nevertheless, there is perfect harmony in our matrimonial home. That is because when an editor and a litigator have an argument, the one who triumphs is always the wife.

And so I want to start by giving one piece of advice to the men: when you’ve already won her heart, you don’t need to win every argument.

Marriage is considered one milestone of life. Some of you may already be married. Some of you may never be married. Some of you will be married. Some of you will enjoy the experience so much, you will be married many, many times. Good for you.

The next big milestone in your life is today: your graduation. The end of education. You’re done learning.

You’ve probably been told the big lie that “Learning is a lifelong process” and that therefore you will continue studying and taking masters’ degrees and doctorates and professorships and so on. You know the sort of people who tell you that? Teachers. Don’t you think there is some measure of conflict of interest? They are in the business of learning, after all. Where would they be without you? They need you to be repeat customers.

The good news is that they’re wrong.

The bad news is that you don’t need further education because your entire life is over. It is gone. That may come as a shock to some of you. You’re in your teens or early twenties. People may tell you that you will live to be 70, 80, 90 years old. That is your life expectancy.

I love that term: life expectancy. We all understand the term to mean the average life span of a group of people. But I’m here to talk about a bigger idea, which is what you expect from your life.

You may be very happy to know that Singapore is currently ranked as the country with the third highest life expectancy. We are behind Andorra and Japan, and tied with San Marino. It seems quite clear why people in those countries, and ours, live so long. We share one thing in common: our football teams are all hopeless. There’s very little danger of any of our citizens having their pulses raised by watching us play in the World Cup. Spectators are more likely to be lulled into a gentle and restful nap.

Singaporeans have a life expectancy of 81.8 years. Singapore men live to an average of 79.21 years, while Singapore women live more than five years longer, probably to take into account the additional time they need to spend in the bathroom.

So here you are, in your twenties, thinking that you’ll have another 40 years to go. Four decades in which to live long and prosper.

Bad news. Read the papers. There are people dropping dead when they’re 50, 40, 30 years old. Or quite possibly just after finishing their convocation. They would be very disappointed that they didn’t meet their life expectancy.

I’m here to tell you this. Forget about your life expectancy.

After all, it’s calculated based on an average. And you never, ever want to expect being average.

Revisit those expectations. You might be looking forward to working, falling in love, marrying, raising a family. You are told that, as graduates, you should expect to find a job paying so much, where your hours are so much, where your responsibilities are so much.

That is what is expected of you. And if you live up to it, it will be an awful waste.

If you expect that, you will be limiting yourself. You will be living your life according to boundaries set by average people. I have nothing against average people. But no one should aspire to be them. And you don’t need years of education by the best minds in Singapore to prepare you to be average.

What you should prepare for is mess. Life’s a mess. You are not entitled to expect anything from it. Life is not fair. Everything does not balance out in the end. Life happens, and you have no control over it. Good and bad things happen to you day by day, hour by hour, moment by moment. Your degree is a poor armour against fate.

Don’t expect anything. Erase all life expectancies. Just live. Your life is over as of today. At this point in time, you have grown as tall as you will ever be, you are physically the fittest you will ever be in your entire life and you are probably looking the best that you will ever look. This is as good as it gets. It is all downhill from here. Or up. No one knows.

What does this mean for you? It is good that your life is over.

Since your life is over, you are free. Let me tell you the many wonderful things that you can do when you are free.

The most important is this: do not work.

Work is anything that you are compelled to do. By its very nature, it is undesirable.

Work kills. The Japanese have a term “Karoshi”, which means death from overwork. That’s the most dramatic form of how work can kill. But it can also kill you in more subtle ways. If you work, then day by day, bit by bit, your soul is chipped away, disintegrating until there’s nothing left. A rock has been ground into sand and dust.

There’s a common misconception that work is necessary. You will meet people working at miserable jobs. They tell you they are “making a living”. No, they’re not. They’re dying, frittering away their fast-extinguishing lives doing things which are, at best, meaningless and, at worst, harmful.

People will tell you that work ennobles you, that work lends you a certain dignity. Work makes you free. The slogan “Arbeit macht frei” was placed at the entrances to a number of Nazi concentration camps. Utter nonsense.

Do not waste the vast majority of your life doing something you hate so that you can spend the small remainder sliver of your life in modest comfort. You may never reach that end anyway.

Resist the temptation to get a job. Instead, play. Find something you enjoy doing. Do it. Over and over again. You will become good at it for two reasons: you like it, and you do it often. Soon, that will have value in itself.

I like arguing, and I love language. So, I became a litigator. I enjoy it and I would do it for free. If I didn’t do that, I would’ve been in some other type of work that still involved writing fiction – probably a sports journalist.

So what should you do? You will find your own niche. I don’t imagine you will need to look very hard. By this time in your life, you will have a very good idea of what you will want to do. In fact, I’ll go further and say the ideal situation would be that you will not be able to stop yourself pursuing your passions. By this time you should know what your obsessions are. If you enjoy showing off your knowledge and feeling superior, you might become a teacher.

Find that pursuit that will energize you, consume you, become an obsession. Each day, you must rise with a restless enthusiasm. If you don’t, you are working.

Most of you will end up in activities which involve communication. To those of you I have a second message: be wary of the truth. I’m not asking you to speak it, or write it, for there are times when it is dangerous or impossible to do those things. The truth has a great capacity to offend and injure, and you will find that the closer you are to someone, the more care you must take to disguise or even conceal the truth. Often, there is great virtue in being evasive, or equivocating. There is also great skill. Any child can blurt out the truth, without thought to the consequences. It takes great maturity to appreciate the value of silence.

In order to be wary of the truth, you must first know it. That requires great frankness to yourself. Never fool the person in the mirror.

I have told you that your life is over, that you should not work, and that you should avoid telling the truth. I now say this to you: be hated.

It’s not as easy as it sounds. Do you know anyone who hates you? Yet every great figure who has contributed to the human race has been hated, not just by one person, but often by a great many. That hatred is so strong it has caused those great figures to be shunned, abused, murdered and in one famous instance, nailed to a cross.

One does not have to be evil to be hated. In fact, it’s often the case that one is hated precisely because one is trying to do right by one’s own convictions. It is far too easy to be liked, one merely has to be accommodating and hold no strong convictions. Then one will gravitate towards the centre and settle into the average. That cannot be your role. There are a great many bad people in the world, and if you are not offending them, you must be bad yourself. Popularity is a sure sign that you are doing something wrong.

The other side of the coin is this: fall in love.

I didn’t say “be loved”. That requires too much compromise. If one changes one’s looks, personality and values, one can be loved by anyone.

Rather, I exhort you to love another human being. It may seem odd for me to tell you this. You may expect it to happen naturally, without deliberation. That is false. Modern society is anti-love. We’ve taken a microscope to everyone to bring out their flaws and shortcomings. It far easier to find a reason not to love someone, than otherwise. Rejection requires only one reason. Love requires complete acceptance. It is hard work – the only kind of work that I find palatable.

Loving someone has great benefits. There is admiration, learning, attraction and something which, for the want of a better word, we call happiness. In loving someone, we become inspired to better ourselves in every way. We learn the truth worthlessness of material things. We celebrate being human. Loving is good for the soul.

Loving someone is therefore very important, and it is also important to choose the right person. Despite popular culture, love doesn’t happen by chance, at first sight, across a crowded dance floor. It grows slowly, sinking roots first before branching and blossoming. It is not a silly weed, but a mighty tree that weathers every storm.

You will find, that when you have someone to love, that the face is less important than the brain, and the body is less important than the heart.

You will also find that it is no great tragedy if your love is not reciprocated. You are not doing it to be loved back. Its value is to inspire you.

Finally, you will find that there is no half-measure when it comes to loving someone. You either don’t, or you do with every cell in your body, completely and utterly, without reservation or apology. It consumes you, and you are reborn, all the better for it.

Don’t work. Avoid telling the truth. Be hated. Love someone.

My 31st Birthday.

Assalamualaikum wbt,

This year my birthday fell on Friday. So I've decided to take half day leave only - leceh nak dating then break solat jumaat. But Suheimy took the whole day off, his morning was filled with errands for the house :)

We went out around 2.40 pm from the office. Don't really know where to go since we missed wayang which starts at 2.15 pm.

I wanted to eat Chinese food @ Shah Alam - Restoran Mukmin, but the place opened at 4 pm on Friday. Since it is already nearly 3pm, we decided to head straight to Shah Alam. Sesat2 sikit, but arrived at destination @ 3.30 pm. To kill the time while waiting for the restaurant to open, and since it is just a row of shop outlets, we went to 2 hardware stores, i went to the loo of a clinic and then we went inside a bookstore cum misc store.

Well, it's the first birthday we celebrated without watching movie and dating/ window shopping in a shopping mall. But i kind of like it. We had a good undisturbed conversation with each other and laughed at the fact that he brought me to a hardware store on my birthday - bought a baldi and a penyapu lidi. :)

oh, and i got charming lilies delivered to my office + a wonderful card.

Hectic Weekend

My weekend was full! My sister and my brother came. The kids had a blast, but the parents were pancit. Penat la mengejar budak2, especially us since our kids are the smallest bunch, hence needs constant observation, their cousins are bigger so my brother and sister takde la nak pengsan sgt. huhu..

Anyway, all worth it when i look at these pictures, Muaz really enjoys himself. He even went to bed at 2 am, the other cousins only sleeps in araound 4 am ++. I really don't know how they managed to stay awake.

and on sunday ujan lebat kat rumah, i went looking for muaz, tgk2, tgh main hujan with his cousins... with daddy looking after smbil baca paper atas pangkin. Pasrah sungguh. Asked lia to goreng pisang and i made same hot tea. best makan goreng pisang panas + teh o panas. Sekejap je habis 2 ikat pisang goreng :D

Oh, this is the first time we are introducing our pangkin. as i told hubby, mmg berbaloi beli, money very much worth spent! We like to sit there in the morning (kalau bgn pagi la) and during afternoon - kids play around and us either reading paper or me reading buku cerita (with lots of distractions of course!)

Today is Muaz's 3rd birthday. We are supposed to have a simple celebration at Taska today, but since Mak Dah (one of Muaz's teacher) is on leave and K ida tgh sarat pregnant, the celebration is postponed to esok.

Anyway, pejam celik, dah 3 years we are blessed with a child in this world. I can still remember the agony and pain we felt when we are struggling to deal with our twins passing and the emotional journey to conceive again after that.

In a way, Muaz was like a very powerful pain killers, the pain of losing Amni Izzah & Amni Izzati is still there, but was very much relieved when we have Muhammad Muaz. Alhamdulillah.

Again, we pray that our friends who is still struggling with the journey of becoming a parents will be strong and hopefully they will have a child of their own soon. Mudah-mudahan dipermudahkanNya. ameen.

Since before that i have been nagging him about dah lama tak dpt suprise, so i already suspected something.

He was standing outside my office door with a slice of chocolate indulgence cake + San francissco coffee.......surprise!

but out of all days... today i am fasting!! Pose ganti plak tu.. huhu..

I gave him the coffee, but i took the cake.. kang habis plak aeimy makan :P

I was amazed this morning.

Muaz was moody since he slept in the car all the way to the parking. so when i woke him up, i tried to pujuk him and said we will go to the kedai and buy some chocholate before going to school so that he can eat it with his friends.

Yup, my kids can now wrestle with each other. If Nadrah is on top, then the wresling event will go smoothly i.e. no tears shed. Kalau muaz yang kat atas, hmm.. kejap je la, Nadrah will cry, ye la, sapa blh tahan14kg on top of you! :)

I remembered 1 day, i was driving home alone with the kids due to suheimy was working late.

Me: Abah balik lambat hari nie
Muaz: Bukan, abah ade kat rumah
Me: tak, abah ade keje, dia balik lambat. Abah kat opis
Muaz: Bukan, abah ade kat rumah ade fish ( he insisted on this)

when we arrive at home

Muaz: mama, mana abah?
Me: Abah kat office sayang, abah lambat.

Muaz cried immediately when i carried him out of the car. He cried at the porch and keeps asking "abah mana?"

I called suheimy and he talked to Muaz to calm him down.

The kids love their abah so much. And we do miss you so much when you are busy sayang.

Hopefully your work runs smoothly and the project will conclude fast so that you don't have to stay late everyday.

Hopefully all this is worthwhile.

Wowwi, it turns out that there are a lot of things you need to do (and money you need to invest) once you have a maid. Today i went to fomema to get the letter for health check up (RM 190). Then need to bring Lia..yup, this is my maid's name... her name is Elyana (my sister said nama dia lagi canggih dari nama i or my doters) need to bring lia to the clinic, X- ray and stuff. Then wait for the approval (need to check online) then have to go to imigration back to get some stickers.

Err.. what about the temporary id cards ek? still need to google about the ID card for lia.

My kids call her "Cik Lia". Muaz is friendly towards her, whenever she went to sidai kain, muaz would follow and if you ask him who's at the house, he already includes cik lia's name in the list.

Nadrah? Tgk je boleh, pegang.. NO NO NO. :)

Well, hopefully Nadrah will learn to likes Cik Lia too. and hopefully she'll be maid yang terbaik utk kami sekeluarga. ameen.

Last weekend suheimy cleaned our fish pond due to it was clogged with stones. Budak2 ni throw stones into the pond, tak tau la during my open house hari tu or mmg daily activities of my own kids..sian ikan2 tu.

Anyway, the process was long and tedious, he started at 9 am and only finishes around 4 pm - with some break in betweens la..

Can you see muaz? he really2 wanted to go into the pond :)

I laid a tikar at the porch so that the kids can have a break too during the process, nasib baik la porch tu ade kipas, best jugak la baring sambil minum susu.

Jamuan Raya Taska TM

Went to Jamuan raya taska TM just now, it was meriah and there were lots of food. I was among the earliest at the dining table as i wanted to grab a KFC before habis... sib baik dpt seketul.

Suheimy was there too, Muaz was having a blast with us and after he got bored waiting for us to finish eating, he went to play with his friends.

And I think Muaz was the only one whose not wearing baju raya, sorry la Muaz, mama tak tau plak kena bawak baju raya.. huhu..

I really wish Nadrah was here, she would have enjoyed the event very much.. huhu.. sian adik nadrah. Takpelah, next year ek! :)

Open house + Raya

I really2 want to update about our hari raya and our open house. But tak best la update without pictures kan.

I did not manage to snap any pictures during the open house - super duper bizi since masak sendiri and alhamdulillah ramai org datang. But i noticed some of my friends and relatives ada snap gambar. Please share with me the pictures yeeeeee....

As for hari raya, somebody (by somebody, i mean muaz or nadrah la kan) must have changed our camera setup, so all the pictures were blur and shaking. so kitaorg takde raya pictures - i need to get the pictures from my sister's camera... huhu..
